Overcoming is a literary review game which tries to make sense of 20th century grief literature. This means that its mechanics are based on the way Western grief psychologists think described grief: As a kind of ‘work’ that must be completed successfully to cut bonds with the dead. Sounds like a game?
Overcoming satirises the basic premise of ‘grief work’ by making players go through the menial task of destroying a bond between two characters.
